Beef Burger
Recipe No.: W-11
InternationalAmerican30 minServes 4

The hamburger is a sandwich of a ground-meat patty in a round bun. Its name comes from Hamburg, Germany, though the exact connection between the food and the city is disputed. Its origin is unclear: sources mention a 'Hamburgh sausage' recipe from 1758 and stories about emigrants to America, but it is not known which, if any, is correct.

Origin of the dish: United States — Its roots are linked to the German city of Hamburg, and accounts differ on who first served it in America
