Vegetable Pizza

Vegetable pizza is a modern variety topped with roasted or sautéed vegetables over tomato and cheese. Pizza itself is an Italian dish; the earliest recorded use of the word 'pizza' is in a Latin document from the town of Gaeta in AD 997, and no particular inventor of the vegetable version is known.
